Yasiel Puig is recovering from a hamstring injury much quicker than anticipated, something Dodgers manager Don Mattingly called "miraculous" and "legendary."“Like three days ago, he was running at 80 percent and having pain,” Mattingly said, via the Los Angeles Times. “And then, all of a sudden, he’s going 100 percent and feels fine. It’s been pretty miraculous, actually, for me.” MORE: Yasiel Puig's career in photos | playoffs 2015: Get to know the Los Angeles DodgersMattingly even compared Puig's road to recovery to that of Howie Kendrick, who also suffered from a hamstring injury in early August. “We went from Howie at 80 to 90 and then stayed at 95 for like 10 days,” Mattingly said. “Yas was able to go from 80 to like almost 100 in two days. I think that’s legendary.”The Dodgers outfielder is scheduled to play four innings in the outfield Thursday in an instructional league in Arizona. However, Mattingly didn't say whether he thought Puig would make the roster for the Dodgers' NLDS series against the Mets.“Like a lot of the other stuff with the roster, we haven’t got there,” Mattingly said. “Obviously, he hasn’t played in a while. Playing in the instructional league and playing major leagues is probably two different things.”Puig was placed on the 15-day DL after he strained his right hamstring in August. It was the second time this season he hurt that hamstring.
