The Lakers' season isn't all bad, after all.

Veteran point guard Steve Nash passed Mark Jackson on the NBA all-time assist list late in the second quarter against the Rockets Tuesday night. Assist No. 10,335, a fast-break dish to Jodie Meeks for an easy dunk, placed the future Hall of Famer third on the list behind John Stockton (15,806) and Jason Kidd (12,091).

Nash, 40, who has sat out numerous games this season due to various, nagging health issues, only played against Houston to get the milestone out of the way.

"I think Mike really wants me to get this assist thing out of the way, which now I'd really like to get out the way too, frankly, because it's kind of out there in the air and everyone's kind of talking about it in L.A.," Nash told the Los Angeles Times earlier Tuesday. "I think that's one part of it."

Glad that's out of the way. Now the Lakers can go back to being, well, this year's Lakers.
